As your child's coach, I will help them to...

Math

  • Break challenging concepts down into manageable parts using games, memory devices, and movement
  • Master basic facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Use reading strategies to understand complex number stories
  • Answer open-ended questions in a way that is accurate, organized, and thorough
  • Apply basic understandings on a higher level through complex number stories and thought-provoking questions

Literacy

  • Improve reading interest, fluency, and comprehension
  • Connect reading skills to real life by looking for similar story elements in television shows, at home, in school, etc.
  • Create writing pieces that are clear and organized
  • Improve elaboration abilities by applying varying literacy devices to written work
  • Experience writing a wide-variety of genres
  • Develop a love of writing

  • See complex content as information that can be engaging and thought-provoking
  • Utilize steps of the Scientific Method when completing experiments
